Company Executives and Senior Managers
All of Brookwood Group’s company executives and senior managers, with the exception of the company’s Controller, are deeply involved in the delivery of professional services to clients. Some also have company management responsibilities as indicated. As a result, every Brookwood project is either directly managed or overseen by highly experienced and qualified professionals who are also among the senior executives and/or managers of the firm.
George T. Heery FAIA RIBA FCMAA
Chairman
Mr. Heery's career continues to be one of innovation and leadership. He was one of a handful of American design and construction professionals who led the development of the new profession of construction management and construction program management. Mr. Heery continues to personally lead many of Brookwood's projects. His experience involves a wide variety of building types featuring extraordinarily successful projects.
S. Shepherd Heery
President & CEO
Shepherd Heery is President and Chief Executive Officer of Brookwood Group and is responsible for Brookwood’s operations in the Western United States and internationally. His experience as a professional architect and construction program manager for private and public sector owners spans more than 25 years. He has extensive management, leadership and marketing experience, especially in the realms of high-rise office and residential developments, encompassing all aspects of the development process.
W. Ennis Parker, Jr., AIA, RIBA
Vice Chairman
Ennis Parker is Vice Chairman of Brookwood Group and brings more than 40 years experience managing large complex projects. Mr. Parker has directed the design and construction efforts for more than $2 billion in public sector capital projects, nearly half of which have been completed for colleges and universities. In addition, Mr. Parker is extensively knowledgeable with all forms of project delivery, including design/build, bridging and construction management at risk.
Brinton E. Smith, Jr. RA
Executive Vice President
Brint Smith has over 30 years of professional experience as an Architect and Program Manager working closely with George Heery most of those years. His experience covers a wide range of complex building types, both as architect and project manager. He is responsible for the development of project budgets and schedules, the selection of specialty consultants, and managing design and construction projects from pre-design to move-in.
Linda Simon
Senior Vice President / Controller
Linda Simon has 41 years of financial experience in the construction industry. Since 1994 Linda has worked for Brookwood, first as its Office Manager and later as its Controller. Ms. Simon is responsible for all financial operations of the company.
Alan M. Katz
Senior Vice President
At Brookwood, Alan Katz focuses on development management, entitlements, property due diligence and design management activities. Alan’s experience as an architect, urban designer, corporate real estate leader and private sector developer over the past thirty years guides his understanding, relationships and strategies in both the private and public sector projects he undertakes.
Louis N. "Vic" Maloof FAIA, FCMAA, RIBA
Senior Vice President
Vic Maloof graduated from Georgia Tech with degrees in both architecture and structural engineering, served as an officer in the U. S. Navy and completed the Advanced Management Program at the Harvard Business School. He joined Heery International in 1960 and eventually became its President, working closely with George Heery over 30 years. In 1991 Vic started the Rosser Program Management division of Rosser International, serving as president of that division of Rosser, a position he held until he joined Brookwood in April of 2005.
Robert M. Bunker
Senior Vice President
Bob Bunker has more than 41 years of construction, program, project and organizational management experience in government and private industry. serving both public and private sector clients. He previously held the position of Senior Vice President at Brown & Root having major responsibilities in Asia and Bosnia. Mr. Bunker is a retired Major General from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Bill Ray FASCE, FSAME
Senior Program Manager
Mr. Ray has over 41 years of executive level management experience in the fields of administration, engineering, construction supervision, contract administration, environmental planning and facilities planning. He has extensive experience with state & local governments, federal agencies and foreign governments. As Senior Vice President of Georgia Tech he led the programming, design, and construction of facilities for the 1996 Summer Olympics. Mr. Ray is a retired Major General from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Mike Gion
Vice President
Michael J. Gion is Vice President and Region Manager for Brookwood Group’s Southwestern Operations and is a member of the firm’s national Operations Committee. Mike has a consistent track record of assisting corporate business clients with the creative and effective utilization of real estate, enhancing profitability and assuring that their workplaces are both strategic and sustainable assets.
C. Robert Newsome
Senior Associate
Bob Newsome is a Senior Associate at Brookwood Group. He has over 24 years experience in program development delivering multiple large-scale park, hotel / resort development and building projects on-time and within budget. He has experience leading all phases of park and resort design and construction as well as the procurment and management of professional services, quality assurance, process development, budget management and scheduling.
Danny G. Gutlay
Project Manager
Danny Gutlay is a Senior Associate at Brookwood Group with over 23 years experience in the construction industry. His experience includes such diverse projects as school facilities, hospitals, military installations, airports, capital improvement programs and public works programs. Crossing over several disciplines, his experience reflects the flexibility and resourcefulness necessary to address client concerns throughout the construction process.
Paul W. Walker
Project Manager
Mr. Walker is a Program Manager with Brookwood Group. He has over 21 years experience in managing the planning, design, construction and commissioning of a large number of K-12 Public School programs. He has been responsible for all phases of project oversight, including bidding, evaluation and negotiation, design review, project budgeting, contract administration, document checking, construction schedule reviews, change order evaluation and project closeout.
